Learn advanced ceramic techniques directly from Polish ceramicist Aleksander Glich in this intensive weekend workshop at Guldagergård. The course explores section throwing as a method of introducing spontaneity and creativity into design, as well as deconstruction and transformation of classical forms such as cylindrical bottles and spherical moon jars.
Aleksander Glich presents the methods behind his own artistic practice – from throwing to assembly to deconstruction – and shares the thoughts, ideas and analyses that shape his approach. He introduces techniques developed through his studies and apprenticeships with Korean master ceramicist Seungho Yang in Taen, as well as work in La Borne, France. While the course focuses on thrown forms, the methods and ideas are equally relevant for work with modelled forms.
Each day runs from 11:00 to 15:30, with the option to continue independent work until 18:00 under the guidance of Aleksander Glich and assistance from potter Bjarne Christensen. This is a rarely offered course with limited places.
