The Chains is a band born from a tribute to Terry Hall and The Specials, which quickly became something much larger. After a memorial concert at Loppen, it became clear that the band's members had undeniable chemistry and a shared vision.
The group brings together experienced musicians from multiple generations of the Danish ska and reggae scene — including members from Leo & The Lineup, The Courettes, Napoleon Solo and Von Dü Fall Back Down. They share a passion for the genre's energy, solidarity and DIY spirit, and together they bring decades of experience from both the Danish and international music scenes.
Though the band's starting point was a tribute, The Chains quickly carved their own path as songwriters. The debut album 'Crying On The Dancefloor' (2024) and its follow-up 'Be Careful What You Wish For' (2026) have made the band one of the most talked-about contemporary names on the international ska scene.
Live, The Chains combine classic two-tone ska, reggae and soul with strong melodies, precise arrangements and infectious energy. This is music designed to be played loud, shared with others and danced to.
Skaface 2.0 opens the evening — a project bringing together major figures from the Copenhagen ska scene with a completely new concept.
