Award-winning jazz project comes to Paradise Jazz. Saxophonist Jakob Dinesen's acclaimed album "Slow Flow" – named Album of the Year at DMA Jazz 2025 – is presented live on stage with an ensemble of Denmark's most prominent musicians.
With over 35 years of experience, Dinesen has navigated freely between jazz, pop, afro and genre-bending expression. His music blends cinematic atmosphere, intensity and openness through inspiration from spiritual jazz, Ravel, soul, Weather Report, Italian film music, David Lynch, afro and reggae. The project also draws threads back to his earlier work with both Once Around the Park and Jakob Bros Beautiful Day.
Dinesen has collaborated with artists such as Hugo Rasmussen, Thomas Helmig, Thomas Blachman, Lars H.U.G. and Kira Skov, as well as international jazz luminaries like Paul Motian, Jeff Tain Watts, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Eddie Gomez.
Slow Flow is about building bridges between musical traditions, cultures and generations – a vision also reflected in his personal narrative. The album balances between past, present and future and conveys hope for a world where differences can meet freely and peacefully.
