Twilight Reading Session

Twilight Reading brings together readers across the Nordic region and the Baltic states for a shared reading experience. The same excerpt is read aloud simultaneously at multiple venues – a project highlighting the power of oral reading, Nordic literature, and storytelling traditions.

This year's theme is "Democracy in the North." The featured text is Swedish author Johannes Anyurus's novel Those Who Will Drown in Their Mothers' Tears – a bestseller that won the prestigious August Prize in 2017. The novel explores how fear is weaponized for political gain and creates division and mistrust between people – a deeply relevant theme for today's society.

Snacks and hot beverages will be served. Registration via Billetto is recommended so organizers can prepare adequate seating.
