Author Jesper Stein, known for his award-winning crime series featuring detective Axel Steen, invites you to a practical workshop on writing crime novels. He shares his experience from over a decade of work as an author and crime reporter, as well as his encounters with legends such as James Ellroy, Michael Connelly, Ian Rankin and John le Carré.
The workshop explores crucial choices in crime fiction: What matters more — plot or the narrator's voice? How do you handle research, cliffhangers and dramatic effects? Should you begin with the classic prologue — the victim's final moments — or choose a more mysterious approach through the detective's nightmare or a flashback to the killer's childhood?
The highlight is simple, hands-on writing exercises designed to get you started or break through writer's block.
