Simon Linnert, one of Scandinavia's most distinctive jazz pianists, presents a newly formed quartet performing original material written especially for this concert. Linnert's expressive playing moves with confidence between lyrical tradition and modern abstraction, shaped by his unique artistic journey – from a promising start on the Copenhagen jazz scene through studies in New York with Jason Moran and Sophia Rosoff to a decade away from music, followed by a remarkable return with the album Of Visions (2020) and the trio Sayeh (2025).
The quartet consists of:
- Simon Linnert – piano
- Ned Ferm – saxophone (American multi-instrumentalist and soloist from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory, known for moving from intense free jazz to intimate lyrical playing)
- Richard Andersson – double bass (central voice in Danish-Nordic jazz)
- Jeppe Gram – drums and composer (with four solo albums, including The Doldrums from 2021, bridges deeply rooted swing with modern form)
The concert is supported by Koda Kultur and takes place at Christiania Jazz Club.
