Sami Galbi, a Swiss-Moroccan multi-instrumentalist and producer, transforms North African raï and chaâbi music into an intense and captivating club sound that strikes directly at the body. Using drum machines, synthesizers, and guitar effects, a vibrant, futuristic sound world is created where traditional folk music meets contemporary pop and club culture in a dynamic blend.
Following his critically acclaimed debut album "YLH BYEBYE" (Bongo Joe Records, 2025) – which received praise from The New York Times and Buzz Magazine among others – Galbi has quickly become an audience favorite. The album is produced by Galbi himself and mixed by Tunisian producer Ammar 808. Galbi maintains the connection to the original melodies and narratives while modulating the music into a pulsating club atmosphere with increased tempo, synths, and distortion.
