Experience the story of the House of Oldenburg's impressive 300-year reign on the Danish throne. The tour follows the dynasty's fate from Frederick V's glorious Frederiksstaden to Frederick VII, the last Oldenburg king to sit on the throne.
In the 1700s, Frederick V marked the historical peak by founding the magnificent Frederiksstaden with Amalienborg at its heart and a monumental statue of the king himself. A century later, the picture was entirely different — Frederick VII's three marriages had failed to produce a royal heir, and the dynasty's days were numbered.
Gain insight into how a power universe that had ruled for three centuries collapsed in just four generations. Admission: 30 DKK + regular museum ticket.
