Live Jazz at Søhesten: Boesen City Group

Emil Boesen's band Boesen City Group presents a jazz concert blending fusion and Nordic tradition. The group features four exceptionally promising young talents from the 2000s generation: Emil Boesen on alto and soprano saxophone, Thiery Marazanye on piano, August Bøegh on bass, and Holme Fernholm on drums.

With the album "Getting there" (2025) and the forthcoming "Introducing Boesen City," the band reinvents 1980s fusion sound through a Nordic lens. Drawing inspiration from Yellow Jackets, Mezzoforte, Pat Metheny Group, Lars Jansson, and Steps Ahead, Boesen's compositions create a universe of intimacy and familiarity, yet entirely original. Despite their youth, the musicians deliver an expression, energy, and maturity that makes Boesen City a remarkable and essential live experience.
