Join a city walk through Copenhagen's wartime history from the time of Absalon up to the Second World War. Along the way, attention is given to the traces still visible in the city, including street names, memorial plaques, statues, buildings, fortifications and the waterfront.
During the tour, urban historian Finn William Larsen will speak about, among other things, the struggle against the Lübeckers, Prince Jaromar and Jarmers Plads, the city's fortifications, the establishment of the Navy, the siege of Copenhagen during the Count's Feud in the 16th century, Christian IV's naval harbour, the citizens' battle against the Swedes in 1659, the construction of Kastellet, the Battle of Copenhagen, the English bombardment of the city in 1807, and the occupation period 1940-45.
