A high-speed comedy that gradually becomes darker and more thought-provoking. Bloody Influencer is a fast-paced show exploring identity, performance and survival in a digital world where everything can be curated – except the breakdown.
We meet Instagram star Daisy Woolworth, desperately trying to hold onto her perfect online image. The smiles are sharp, the feed is polished, but behind the façade, reality is beginning to crack. The show draws us into the absurd and brutal mechanisms of influencer culture: the relentless pursuit of being more beautiful, more successful, more happy – and the price to pay when that ideal can no longer be maintained. Inspired by real-life breakdowns, Bloody Influencer unfolds as a rapid and uncomfortably precise journey into self-presentation, addiction and mental health in the 21st century.
The work won Best of Brighton Fringe 2023.
