Since Niels Bohr, quantum physics has challenged our fundamental understanding of reality. Today, we find ourselves in the midst of a quantum revolution with the potential to transform medicine, cybersecurity, economics, and geopolitics.
This autumn's inaugural Akademiet LIVE explores this fascinating development through a conversation between science journalist Lone Frank, Professor Rebecca Adler-Nissen, and Professor Peter Lodahl. They provide perspective on Niels Bohr and his legacy – from his groundbreaking atomic model of 1913 to modern quantum technology.
Panelists:
- Rebecca Adler-Nissen – Professor of International Politics, Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen, and director of CAISA (The National Center for Artificial Intelligence in Society). Her research encompasses geopolitics, artificial intelligence, and quantum technology.
- Peter Lodahl – Professor of Quantum Physics and Quantum Technology, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. His work focuses on controlling the interaction between light and matter at the quantum level and developing quantum internet through the Hy-Q center.
Program:
- 17:00: Doors open
- 17:30: Conversation (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes)
- 18:45: Free beer/water
- 19:15: Closing time
The event is part of the Akademiet LIVE series, which throughout 2026 highlights Danish basic research supported by the Carlsberg Foundation over 150 years. It will be possible to purchase the book "From Yeast to Galaxies" at the special event price of 249.95 kr.
