Kontravoid is the masked alter ego of Canadian-born Los Angeles-based musician Cameron Findlay, whose music has remained iconic for over a decade. Since his self-titled album in 2012, he has perfected dark pop with a distinctive blend of EBM, electro, and goth. Productions such as "Too Deep" (2019) and "Faceless" (2021) explore electronic soundscapes that pull toward dimly lit, strobe-lit club scenes — leaving no choice but to dance. Yet beneath the muscular sound design lies an unexpected softness and strong songwriting ability, resulting in heart-wrenching tracks full of melancholic beauty. "Undone" from 2018 has become a fan favorite since its release on Berlin-based label Fleisch Records. Live, Kontravoid delivers an intense performance where brutal rhythms blend with his signature bass line patterns. He has toured with Boy Harsher, ADULT., Drab Majesty, and Hide, and has remixed artists such as Schwefelgelb and Kris Baha. A truly unique force in dark electronic music.
