Stengade rounds out the year with an evening of Danish indie pop when ELBA visits the venue on December 5th. Ellen Bathum – the artist behind ELBA – delivers contrast-filled indie pop with a powerful voice and raw, sensitive lyrics at the forefront. As one of the most promising voices on the Danish music scene, she is now releasing music in Danish for the first time. Singles from the project are already reaching listeners via P4, and her debut album in Danish – 'tar & glitter' – is set for release in September 2026.
ELBA's sound blends electronic and organic elements in grand productions, inspired by Nordic indie pop and alternative electronic pop. Her lyrical universe unfolds raw emotions and complex relationships with sensibility and weight. Her earlier English-language works have garnered national and international attention – including rotation on P3, P4, and P6 BEAT, as well as sync placements in the German Amazon Prime series 'Un/Dressed' (2024) and the feature film 'MIRA' (2025). Her debut album 'Teardrops & Blind Spots' (2023) was acclaimed, notably by DR P3's Ena Cosovic for being a 'completely fantastic album' with electronic sound mixed with rock elements and pop melodies. Live, ELBA is characterized by presence and nerve – she has performed at Roskilde Festival, Smukfest, and SPOT Festival, and has earned 4-5 star reviews from GAFFA.
