Glyptoteket invites you on a special guided tour exploring the significance of the sun and light in ancient Egypt. The tour begins beneath the palm trees in the museum's winter garden, where you will discover the characteristic light and mild climate of Mediterranean lands before entering the Egyptian collection.
Learn about the lioness goddess Sakhmet and her connection to the sun god Ra, and gain insight into how the sun influenced ancient Egyptian culture and daily life. The tour is free with museum admission and tickets are collected on the day at the ticket office – no advance booking. Groups of more than five people should book a private tour.
